VISITING
THE GARDENS
The Fronteira Palace has two gardens that are open to the public: the Formal garden and the Venus garden. The Formal garden is the prime example in Portugal of an Italian inspired garden from the 17th century. There you can discover the King’s Gallery where the marble busts of the Portuguese Kings can be found. The Venus garden was the place used to shelter from the Summer heat, where you can find the S Fountain and the Garden Grotto. Also filled with tiles, the Fronteira Palace’s gardens are the perfect place to spend a pleasant afternoon in the middle of Lisbon.
